Phillip Eyre Welch Sr. entered into rest on the 24th of August 2011, at his home in Orlando, Florida.
He leaves behind his wife of 63 years, Venessa (Virgil) Welch, four sons, Phillip Jr., Jerome, Charles, & Samuel and three daughters in law; adopted son and daughter, Ronald and Dolly Budhu. He also leaves two siblings, Gloria (Welch) Barton of Jacksonville FL. and Edward Welch of Bermuda. Mr. Welch also leaves behind six grand children; Danielle, Phil, Jerad, Christian, Kimberly, and Niles, and four great grand children; Dejanay, D'Andre, Drevyon, and Phillip Jordan.
He was born and raised in Hamilton Parish, Bermuda, by Eric and Bernice Welch.
In his early years Phillip Sr. had the responsibility of helping to care for his family. After school, he would go to work everyday.
As a young adult Mr. Welch became a machinist at Meyer's Machine Shop, St. George Bermuda. His duties included the art of welding and repairing engines, including ship engines.
Afterward Mr. Welch became head foreman at NASA Bermuda in their Engineering Maintainence Dept. He remained there until his retirement in Orlando.
Mr. Welch was very active in the church and raised his sons to be good family men & Christians.
