Rafael immigrated from Cuba to the U.S. in 1959 and worked tirelessly all his life to give his children the opportunity to live the American dream. He was a dedicated husband to his wife Josefa, an admirable father to Rafael, Rosario, Jose and Lourdes. He doted over his grandchildren: Amy, Marisol, Melissa, Jennifer, Ashley, Courtney, Erik and Kimberly. Many of his proudest moments were those shared with his great grandchildren: Zackary, Alex, Kaitlyn, Tyler, Mackenzie, Derek, Matthew, Luke, Evan, Billy, Maddie, Rylan, Kya, Alexa, and Easton.
Positivity, kindness, and hardworking are perfect descriptions for Rafael. He spent his days lovingly caring for his wife, tending to his home bred canaries, and cultivating his garden, all done with a smile on his face. Rafael was loved by all who met him because of is warm smile, kindness and generosity. His philosophy life was to work hard, help anyone in need, be generous, do for others more than you'd like done for you, and to always be positive. He believed strongly in forgiveness and the love of family was always most important, regardless of everyone's opinions. Children need to laugh and play, and he always had candy and cookies to offer the kids when they visited. Every child needs a pet to love. Rafael always looked for the best in every person, and believed that you should make friends wherever you go. He was compassionate, and most honest man you'd ever meet. He enjoyed playing music because it bring happy, positive feelings. His family is blessed to have had his wisdom and life philosophy to learn from. Rafael will be greatly missed and always remain in the hearts of those who were fortunate to know him.
