Ralph Creek

July 8, 1949 — March 18, 2015

Ralph Creek, beloved husband and father, went to be with his Lord on March 18th, 2015. He was born in 1949 to Robert and Sadie Creek and has spent the last 42 years of his life married to Rita Couch.

The years of his life were spent surrounded by his family, friends, and pets. Everyone who knew him adored him. Soft spoken, never confrontational, but always ready with dry humor and a straight face with just a hint of humor around the corners of lips. But Ralph could also be very protective of those he loved. Once while walking Angus his dog, he was confronted by an irate women who insisted that the dog was actually hers. She began to call the dog by some other name approaching the pet menacingly. Poor Angus scurried around behind Ralph's legs while he shouldered the brunt of her verbal assault. Never backing down for a moment, Ralph raised his voice to what most would call conversational, yet, was forceful and eventually turned the woman away.

Pets were not his only passion. Ralph loved to bowl and his consistent scores demonstrated that. Perhaps 'consistent' would be a word that just about everyone would agree described Ralph to a "T". To say that Ralph was reliable would be an understatement. He was someone you could count on.

And this is exactly what his wife Rita, and loving daughter, Laura, did. They counted on him in so many small ways. Yet, in retrospect, counted on him to be there for the big moments, both good and bad that every family faces. And always with a smile and often a melody. Ralph loved music. He had since he was just a child. And Ralph could sing. Not 'just' sing, but sing like a professional. For many years he sang in Gospel quartets, choirs, and as a soloist.

Ralph was a caring man. Not the big, loud, emotional type, but the quiet and sincere. This played out in so many different ways not only with his family, but also with others like his involvement with Jr. Achievement.

We, his loving family, mourn with those who survive him; his wife Rita, their daughter Laura, and Jenn who he treated as an adopted daughter. We mourn our loss and celebrate his life. His work is done.

"What we have done for ourselves alone dies with us; what we have done for others and the world remains and is immortal."

Albert Pike.
