Randy L. Bartley, age 66, of Orlando, Florida passed away on Saturday, February 15, 2020 at the VA Medical Center in Lake Nona. He was the loving husband to Holly Bartley.
Randy was born on November 27, 1953 in Robeson County, NC, son of the late Layton Sr. and Earlene (Jacobs) Bartley. On January 9, 1976, he married Holly Ransom. Randy honorably served his country as a member of the United States Army until his retirement as a Sergeant Major in 1998.
Randy loved fishing, wood working, and working on stained glass projects. He enjoyed spending time outdoors whether gardening or sitting on the shore of the ocean watching the waves crash.
Randy never met a stranger. His pride and joy were his three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. If you ever had the pleasure to meet him, you know all about them.
Besides his wife of 44 years, Holly, Randy is survived by his son, Jon Bartley and his wife, Shamira, of Orlando; three grandchildren, Alma Verdugo and her husband, Anthony, JonAnthony Bartley, and Ayanna Bartley; two great-grandchildren, Ayden Verdugo and Adalynne Rose Verdugo; a sister, Christa Bullard of Pembroke, NC; and two brothers, Andrew Bartley and his wife, Jennifer, and Layton Bartley, Jr. and his wife, Lois, all of Fairmont, NC.
Funeral Services are Friday, February 21, 2020 at 11:00 am at Newcomer Funeral Home – East Orlando Chapel, 895 S. Goldenrod Road, Orlando, with Pastor Barry Leathers officiating.
Visitation with the family will precede the service from 10:00 am until the start of the service at 11:00 am.
Committal services with full military honors will be on Friday, February 21 at 2:00 pm at Cape Canaveral National Cemetery, 5525 US-1, Mims, FL 32754.
