Randy J Isley, Sr.

December 7, 1956 — August 31, 2017

Our hearts are broken as we share with our family and friends that our sweet Randy has valiantly completed his mission here on earth. Randy went home peacefully in his sleep, to be with our Heavenly Father, Thursday Morning, August 31, 2017. We have no doubt, Randy was welcomed with so much joy by his loving parents, Bonnies parents, and many other family and friends.

On December 7th, 1956, Oretha Hobgood Isley and Charlie Wesley Isley received the Best Christmas Present Ever!!! A beautiful baby boy, our sweet Randy!! Randy was blessed to have 2 younger sisters, Lynn McGee, married to Jerry McGee and Tammy Isley.

Randy's deep passion for music started very early in his life. He was playing the piano by the time he was 6 years old. When he was only 16 he played the organ for a church wedding, and was playing for church services. While most young men go out looking for jobs at 16, Randy already had it covered!!! He started teaching piano lessons!!

In June, 1974, the summer of Randy's Junior Year, Randy's grandmother Hobgood asked Randy to take her to Orlando, Florida to visit a dear friend, Alberta Clifton. Alberta Clifton, just happened to be, Bonnie Markesteyn's grandmother. Never imagining a Simple Road Trip would change his life forever!!!!

Randy's grandma Hobgood asked Bonnie to show Randy around Disney World. And so, the Fairytale Began…long distance dating at it's best! First Airplane Rides, First trips to the mountains, First road trips back and forth from North Carolina to Florida. Within a short 9 months they were engaged!

Randy then graduated from Eastern Guilford High School, June 1975. On, July 20th, 1975, Randy was baptized a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Three weeks later, August 9th, Randy and Bonnie were married!!! Two 18-year-old kids that most people didn't give a chance to last a year!!! Little less than a year later, June 1976, Randy moved to Orlando, Florida. He brought his home-sick wife back home!

On August 14th, 1975, they were sealed for Time and All Eternity in the Washington DC Temple.
Their marriage began 42 years of amazing adventures, laughter, fun times and eternal love. They have 3 wonderful and amazing children. Randy J Isley, Jr., Kristi Isley Northcott, and Phillip Garrett Isley. They also have been blessed with a wonderful son-in-law, Brian Northcott, and their son's better half's, Cheryl and Hillary!!

Randy is such a proud Grandpa!! He constantly said his grandbabies were growing up way too fast!! And they meant the world to him. Brian Allan, Jr., Carson Wesley, Parker Garrett and Makenna Joan.

Randy served so valiantly in various callings in the Church. He was a Seminary Teacher, Ward and Stake Organist, Ward and Stake Director, Elders Quorum President, several Bishoprics, Five faithful years as Bishop and High Counselor.

The Musical Programs Randy directed were beyond amazing. His Choir was invited to travel to other wards and stakes to perform. His "Music Through the Century" was astounding!!!! They performed at Lake Eola for the 4th of July. He was blessed to play the organ at the Dedication of the Atlanta Temple, he directed the choir for the dedication of the Orlando Temple. Randy's ability to bring a choir together surpassed all others. He truly had a way with choir members. They loved him, and wanted to sing under his direction. Voices that didn't seem to "gel", miraculously sounded Heavenly!! His musical talents are truly exceptional!!! But of course, he would never take credit for a beautiful number. He always gave all the credit to his choir members.

Randy worked for the Church as the Employment Director, serving the South-East Region. He was very instrumental in the building of the Employment Services Center here in Orlando. He loved his work and considered it a privilege to serve in this great work.

In 2005 Randy received his Bachelor of Science from the University of Phoenix. Randy is loved by so many. He has touched so many lives. Randy is a man of great integrity and everyone who knew him considered him their friend. His talents are a hundred-fold. The most important thing in Randy's life was his family. The love for his family is beyond any measure. There are no words that can adequately express the unconditional love that he has for his family. Randy treated his wife like a princess. He loves her with every fiber of his being. As a dear friend wrote: Randy loved his wife so much! He was always the standard on how a husband should love his wife. He set the bar very high.

Words cannot describe the heartache our family feels from our lose.
"There are no good-byes, we love you with all our heart… until we meet again…

My Dear Randy …. You are my life, you are my heart… I love you more than the sand on the sea shore… I love you more than all the stars in the sky… I love you more than raindrops falling from the clouds… I even love you more than chocolate cake!!!!!! I love you more…… more…… more…..
