Ray N. Brinkley, 73, of Orlando, Florida passed away on October 18, 2019. He was born on December 8, 1945 in Suffolk, Virginia.
He is preceded in death by his parents, George Riddick and Gussie Brinkley.
Ray is survived by his wife, Susan Dabney Brinkley; his children, Lisa Brinkley, Tommy Brinkley and wife Linda Glover-Brinkley, Raymond Brinkley and wife Elizabeth Alvarado, Zaviora Charles and husband Kevin Charles, Raven Brinkley, and Ariel Brinkley-Malagon and husband Francisco Malagon; his grandchildren, Kevin Charles, Kiana Charles, Kharon Charles, and Tommy Brinkley; his siblings, Pastor Deloris Russell and husband Elder Brad Russell, George Brinkley and wife Toni Brinkley, Dorothelia Owens, Denise Gallop, Veron Riddick, Lindell Riddick, George Riddick, Major Riddick, Lillian Riddick, Claude Riddick, Alfred Riddick, Canara Riddick, and Joseph Riddick; his cousins, Sharen Allen, Lawrence Allen, Mark Allen, and Calvin Allen; his nieces and nephews, Sharen, Lawrence, Calvin and Mark; and his beloved dogs, Halo, Lucifer, and Roxi.
He was a Correctional Captain in New York City for twenty years, before moving to Orlando, Florida. Ray will be remembered for playing his guitar, as a hobby and in the church band. His man-cave will be quieter on basketball days. Everyone will miss his ribs and home fries.
