Rebecca G. Wenger

February 6, 1935 — January 5, 2021

Rebecca H Wenger (nee Good), age 85, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Monday, January 5th in Austin Texas. For the last 7 years, she split her time living with her family in Riverview Florida, Wilton Connecticut during the summers, and most recently in Lago Vista Texas. She was born February 6, 1935 in Lancaster County, PA. She was the daughter of Jonas and Emma Good, farmer and quiltmaker respectively. She was preceded in death by her brother David and survived by her sisters, Sara, Emma, Barbara and Mabel.

Rebecca Wenger was married to Levi for 56 years, and was his helpmate, whether it was in their early years on the farm, running the produce and subsequent organic health food business, or raising their five children with a strong work ethic and a saving faith in Jesus. More than anything, Rebecca was a strong force in her family and always had a positive contribution, whether you wanted it or not! She is survived by her 5 children who will miss her but always see her impact on their lives. Oldest daughter Bethanne Wenger Vaughan married to John Vaughan of Houston Texas. Her son Adam, of Orlando Florida. She always said "I have 4 girls and they each have a brother"! Mary Etta Cope married to Robert Cope of Lago Vista Texas. Betty Jane Russo married to Dan Russo of Riverview Florida. Lisa Wenger Caldaroni married to Robert Caldaroni of Wilton Connecticut.

Also surviving are her grandchildren in order of age: Jonathon Cope (Baltimore MD) , Jessica Clavijo (Hawthorn NJ), Jeremy Cope (Austin TX), Kristina Russo (Lakeland FL), Anthony Russo (Orlando FL), and in Wilton CT; Matthew Wenger, Courtney Caldaroni, and Carly Caldaroni . Rebecca took great joy being present in their lives and kept busy with their hockey games, sports, piano practices, and digging in anyone's garden that would give her access. Her love of flowers is as much a demonstration of her work ethic, patience, and willingness to wait for results.
She is also survived by 3 great grandchildren: Atticus Leonidas Clavijo and Amaya Rebecca Clavijo of NJ, and Savannah Grace Cope of Baltimore MD.

Her family cared for her safely at home until she was hospitalized in November and diagnosed with bone cancer. She was then moved to 24x7 skilled nursing and hospice care in Austin TX. At one point she said "I'm ready to go home, pray and ask Jesus to come and get me." Mom is at home and we will miss her but see her again, soon and very soon. Her song was "Take my hand precious Lord, lead me home"

The family is not having a service and in lieu of flowers, please give to the needy as she always did. She will be interred on Friday January 8th at 1pm in a private burial at Chapel Hill Cemetery in Orlando, FL.
