Rev. Margaret Carpenter, age 88, of Oviedo, Florida passed away peacefully December 13th, 2015.

Rev. Margaret Hester Carpenter went home to be with the Lord on Sunday December 13, 2015 following a brief and sudden illness. She resided in Oviedo, Fl. and was 88 years old.

Margaret was born inn Lumberton, N.C. on March 9, 1927 to the late Thomas and Addie Hester. The youngest of seven siblings, she was raised in Hester Town,N.C. When the family migrated to New York City, Margaret attended the Boys and Girls High School in Brooklyn.

She went on to receive a nursing degree from Montefiore Nursing in Bronx, NY. Margaret and the late Bernard Carpenter Jr. were married and from this union five children were born. Eventually the family moved from Brooklyn to Hempstead, Long Island. Margaret worked as a registered nurse at Hempstead General Hospital while balancing the raising of her five children. Later on she was employed at A. Holly Patterson Home from where she retired and relocated to Oviedo, FL. in 1993.

While still in Hempstead, Margaret felt a call to ministry and enrolled at Bethel Bible Institute from which she graduated in 1991 with a Maters in Theology. In 2014 she was an ordained minister. Her genuine love for the Lord caused her to touch many lives through several ministries in which she served. Margaret was a speaker at several Christian Conferences and in later years she had an active prison ministry.Over the years many were blessed though a weekly bible study that she faithfully conducted at the home.

Margaret is predeceased by her Siblings-Robert Hester, Hurley Hester, Albert Hester, Rudolph Hester, Thelma McKellar and Annie-Ruth Delamothe. She is survived by her children- Bernard Carpenter III (Connie), JoAnn Bryant-Green(Jimmy), Joyce Hayes(Charles), Gary Carpenter(Ginette)and Margaret Ann Mercer(Rick. Grandchildren - Yvette Taylor, Duane Bryant, Charles Hayes Jr., Jason Hayes, Janeiah Carpenter, Serena Allen, Gary Carpenter Jr., David Bryant, Dana Carpenter and Ashley Winfield. Grandchildren of her heart- Lisa Hayes , Christopher Hayes, Tricia McAfee ( Devon, Isani,Imani, Al , Alex) Cathy Hayes , Tamika Hayes and Iesha Hayes. Great grandchildren- Malik Carpenter, Andrea Bryant, K'Monne Hayes, Stacy Bryant , Asiyah Carpenter, Jason Hayes Jr. Maliah Carpenter, Dylan Bryant and Keane Taylor. Great- great grandchildren- Azarhea Joy Smith, Malani Carpenter and a host of nieces nephews friends and loved ones.
