Richard Alton (Dick) Rivenbark- Age 66, of Winter Park, passed away November 14, 2013.
He was born September 22, 1947 in Jacksonville, FL, the son of Alton and Elizabeth Jane Rivenbark. He was a graduate of South Sumter High School and Florida Technological University (now UCF). He enlisted in the Marine Corps after high school and was a Vietnam Veteran. He worked for 20 years for the US Postal service prior to his retirement in 1994.
Richard was an avid auto racing enthusiast. In earlier years he had a great passion for his 76 MGB roadster and 69 MGC-GT. His part time was spent working on and driving his cars. He was also an active member of the MG Club of Central Florida. He was a huge Florida State Seminoles football fan, and loved his Miami Dolphins as well. His later years were spent mainly at home, with his wife and two sons. He was also devoted to their many pets, especially his beloved Suzy, who was by his side for the last 13 years.
Richard is survived by his wife Vicky, daughters- Rachel Pate, Kristin (Cary) Arak, sons- Robert Rivenbark and Andrew Rivenbark; sisters- Nancy Kristine (Kris) Bateman, Evelyn Hughes, brother Richard (Tad) Mathew Rivenbark; Grandchildren- Ashley Pate, Jordan Pate, Ethan Arak, Ava Arak.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, November 20, 2013 from 6 - 9 PM at Newcomer Funeral Home, Orlando. A graveside funeral ceremony will be held at 11 AM on Thursday, November 21, 2013 at Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Bushnell, FL .
