Richard "Mark" Collins, age 70, of Sanford, Florida passed away on Tuesday, November 16, 2021 at his home in Sanford, FL.
Mark was born on August 11, 1951 in Orlando, FL, son of the late Virgil Collins and the former Elsie Faye Schilling. He worked for many years as a commercial truck driver for Pepsico, Coca Cola, and Miller Brewing Company. Later, he drove a taxi for Mears Transportation, and worked as a political surveyor for TMC before his retirement.
On May 31, 1996, he married his longtime girlfriend, Marilyn, to whom he was married at the time of his passing. They were friends for over 25 years before their eventual marriage. He and Marilyn enjoyed traveling the country while Mark drove to his various deliveries. Mark was also an avid fisherman, especially fly fishing, and was a Florida Gators fan.
Mark is survived by his wife of 25 years, Marilyn Collins; his daughter, Samantha Carman and her husband, Steve, of Oviedo, FL; two grandchildren, Andrew Carman, and Casey Carman; two brothers, Cody Collins and his significant other, Joyce Cooper, of Orlando, and Cary Collins of Inglis, FLl; his sister, Nancy Adams of Orlando; his devoted mother-in-law, Anita Miller of Sanford; and his beloved cat and companion, Max.
