Richard (Red) Edwards, age 81, of Orlando, FL passed away on September 22, 2018.
He is preceded in death by his wife Patricia Wolfe Edwards and stepdaughter Helen Hoekstra. He is survived by his brother Mike Edwards (Donna) of Tampa, FL, sons Richard (Alice) of Groveland, FL, Robert (Connie) of Altamonte Springs, FL, Kenneth (Julie) of Brunswick, GA, and stepdaughter Pati
(Richard) Elliott of Ocala, FL. Including 12 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.
Richard (Red) started with Southern Bell on October 30, 1955 as a frame attendant. He also held titles of station repair, cable repair, and coin telephone consultant. He served as Local President from 1982 – 1987. Red retired in 1994 after 38 and a half years.
In his younger years, Red enjoyed drag racing at the local tracks and also was a member of the Gold Wing Club where he and his wife enjoyed riding with other members.
Red had a great sense of humor and loved to joke and make people laugh. He will truly be missed by his family and those he came in contact with.
