Richard Randolph "Randy" Harrison died on February 5, 2020 at Advent Health East Orlando Hospital.
Randy was born September 17, 1937 in Skene, Mississippi, to Mae and Dick Harrison. He lived between Shaw, Mississippi and Mt. Vernon, Indiana for most of his younger years and left when he joined the Air Force.
When he got out he went back to Mississippi and met the love of his life Johnnie Copeland in 1960, after six months they were married. They moved to Cleveland, Mississippi and started their life together. In 1965, they welcomed their first daughter, Elisa. Randy worked for Kossmans Buick - Cadillac. In 1969, they decided to move to Orlando, FL where he went to work at Holler Chevrolet. They welcomed their second daughter, Key, in 1971. He worked at Holler until 1984 when he opened his own shop, Randy's Auto Specialist. He then became everyone's mechanic. He was one of the most honest people when it came to fixing cars, they all trusted him.
He was an avid drag racer up until when he finally had to give it up in 2017, the mind was willing but the body did not allow. He won many events, and had a very special award in 1995 for the most improved driver. He loved to watch Florida football and basketball. Go Gators!
He was preceded in death by his precious wife, Johnnie, who died of cancer in April 2011; and his son-in-law, Jimmy, in April 2019.
Randy is survived by his daughters Elisa Arnold (Jimmy), and Key Cofty (John); his grandchildren, Randi Wheeler (Zach), and Mitchell Arnold; and his great-grandchildren Colton Harrison Wheeler & Brockton Oliver Wheeler; his sister Brenda Henderson (Jerry) and his brother Danny Harrison (Janet); many nieces and nephews; as well as his two step-sisters Estelle Hodges and Mary-Frances Ellis.
