Richard Jude Henderson, Jr.

Richard Jude Henderson Jr. 58, Orlando FL, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, August 11th, 2023 in Las Vegas, NV.

He will be reunited in Heaven with his grandfather Matthew Aviano, father Richard Henderson Sr., and his daughter Paige who went to be with the Lord in 2020.

Passionate, charismatic and a lover of people, Rich was born on July 23rd, 1965 in Long Island, NY to Irma Perry and Richard Henderson, Sr. He pursued, and attained a successful boxing career- including matches in Madison Square and beyond. Rich also served in the Navy before moving to Santa Barbara, CA where he met and married Elizabeth Coles. Together, they raised Tatiana, Matthew and Paige. While there, they were involved with Calvary Chapel Santa Barbara where Rich intentionally spent his time leading men's groups, various Bible studies and cultivating an active Christian Rap music career. As a family they enjoyed theme parks (roller coasters specifically!), beach trips and traveling to visit his extended family- especially at holidays. Rich loved to share stories of tying a towel as a makeshift cape around his shoulders and running around like a superhero and the theme carried through his life. His favorite movies were often filled with epic superhero transformations or centered around coming up against a giant of a battle in any sense of the word. Rich also loved to help others when he could and wanted to be an example of the true meaning of the word Hero even if the journey was difficult. One of Rich's passions in life was fitness and bodybuilding. Rich trained and maintained a healthy lifestyle to compete in fitness competitions. The most recent competition earning him the PRO Card he had worked so diligently to obtain.

Rich is survived by his sons Matthew Henderson , Justin Henderson and stepdaughter Tatiana Delatorre as well as his mother, Irma Perry, sisters Michelle Henderson and Christine Nichols,niece Brittany De Rosa, nephews Sheldon Nichols, Seth Nichols and Brian Jones. Countless friends and family and of course- his daughter's dog Racks who he shared a special bond with.
