Richard Michael Kelly

God let us praise and rejoice You as we come together to celebrate Richard's life.

Richard Michael Kelly was born on July 23, 1948, his father died when he was 12. Becky and Richard met in January 1968 on a blind date. This was the beginning of a lifelong love and marriage. They were both born in the same hospital in Washington D.C. Richard was drafted in 1968. Due to a car accident he was unable to go to Vietnam. Instead he was assigned eighteen months in Okinawa. On August 8, 1970, Richard and Becky were married at the chapel on Andrew's A.F.B., and then they moved to Fort Sill, Oklahoma. They returned to Maryland in 1971 to start their post military lives together. Both worked in customer service and sales. For 23 years, they both were loving the life that Christ died for. Then God blessed them with their beautiful daughter Danielle Lynn. Becky and Richard moved to Florida in 1993 after Danielle's birth. Richard enjoyed sports and cooking shows. He liked recreating the meals from the shows. He was known for his wonderful cooking. If Richard cooked, people came to eat. 1 Cor. 13:13 "And the greatest of these is Love." Richard had kind and tender heart for his wife, daughter, family and friends. Through good and bad he always had a smile and kind word. He was truly loved by his family, friends and Night Callers. Richard leaves behind his beloved wife of 40 years, and his wonderful daughter Danielle Lynn; his brother-in-law Danny Borem; his brother Tom Kelly and his sisters MaryLou Purcell and Ruthann Gooslin. We will all miss him with all our hearts and look forward to seeing him in Heaven.
His memorial service will be conducted at 1:00 PM on Saturday, November 14, 2009 at St. Andrews Church, 5525 Wayside Drive, Sanford, FL 32771. 407-328-1139.
