Richard "Rick" David Powers, 71, of Orlando, FL passed away January 21, 2018.
He was born on November 18, 1946 in Cincinnati, OH to the late Frank Edwin and Louise Powers.
Rick is survived by his wife, Donna Sue Powers; sons, David M. (Karen) Powers and Cris A. Powers; 4 grandchildren, Jacob Powers, Jordan Powers, Jadyn Powers and Tristan Powers; and brother, Michael(Betsy) Powers. He has two stepchildren, Willis White of Minneapolis, MN and Cara White of Robbinsdale, MN.
Rick is a Vietnam War veteran. After retiring with twenty years in the US Navy, Rick was employed for a year as a civilian contractor in Somalia and then for a year by the King of Saudia Arabia. He was an employer of the Greater Orlando Aviation Authority for ten years before finally retiring.
Visitation is Monday January 29, 2018 from 11am to 1pm at the Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions (East Orlando Chapel).
Graveside committal with military honors will follow on Monday January 29, 2018 at 2pm at Cape Canaveral National Cemetery, Mims, FL.
