Richard Ramirez “Coach Richard”, 57, passed away unexpectedly on November 27th, 2024. Born in Brooklyn, New York, Richard was raised in Bayamon, Puerto Rico, where he developed his lifelong passion for baseball and fishing.
Richard was a devoted husband to Julie, his beloved wife, and proud father to his children, Juliana (son in-law, Michael), Anthony (daughter in-law, Tamara), Nicholas (daughter in-law, Katie), and Jacob (daughter in-law, Lenny). He cherished his role as “Grandpa” to his grandchildren- Audrey, Jace, Scarlett, Brielle, Gemma, Ryan, Addison, Julien and he eagerly anticipated the arrival of his newest granddaughter.
Richard is also survived by his siblings- John, James, Gabriel and Lupe with whom he shared countless memories and an unbreakable bond. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins. He is preceded in death by his mother, Mercedes; his father, Jimmy; his brother, Michael; his sister, Sarah; and his God son, Andrew Mendez.
Those who knew Richard will remember his kind heart, his love for fishing, his love for a good baseball game and coaching baseball for his sons for many years. He was happiest surrounded by his family, especially his grandkids.
A celebration of Richard's life will be held at Newcomer Funeral Home, 3806 Howell Branch Rd. Winter Park, Fl 32792 at 10 a.m. for visitation, 11 a.m. for services followed by graveside services at noon.
Rest in Peace, Richard “Coach Richard”, “Grandpa”, your love and legacy will live on in all who were fortunate to know you.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in his honor to the Magic Foundation for Optic Nerve Hypoplasia/Septo Optic Dysplasia or The Lighthouse Foundation for the Blind, causes close to Richard’s Heart.
