Rita H. Barr, of Altamonte Springs passed away on April 17, 2016. She was born June 7, 1920 in New York City to Lillie and John Bender.
She worked for many years for New Jersey Bell in Teaneck, NJ, and retired from the Bergen Evening Record in Hackensack, NJ as a librarian.
She was pre-deceased by her Husband James in 1986 and her daughter Rosemary Gordon in 2014.
She is survived by her son, Kenneth (Kathy) of Maui, Hawaii, son-in-law George Gordon of W. Palm Beach, FL, 6 grandchildren, Mary Ann (Mike) Cunningham, Scott (Megan) Gordon, Todd (Veronica) Gordon, Lisa (Chris) Danes, Dennis Gordon and James Barr, and 10 great-grandchildren.
She is described by every person who knew her as caring, loving and just the sincerest sweetest person they have ever known.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Hospice of The Comforter, 480 W. Central Pkwy., Altamonte Springs, FL 32714, in her name.
