Robert A. (Bob) Brown, age 54, passed away Monday, October 7, 2013. Bob was born in Ft. Worth, TX, the youngest son of Bill and JoAn Brown. The family moved to Orlando in 1967 when Bob was 8 years old and where he graduated from Colonial High School in 1977. He married, Susan (Plopper) Brown, that same year. They were blessed with a daughter, Shelby Grace, in 1980 and a son, Cody Alan in 1984. Cody passed away in 1986.
Bob worked in the Records Management Dept. of the Orange County Comptroller. Previous to that he worked as a Corrections Officer for Orange County and a courier for Greater Florida Title. He enjoyed golfing, taking cruises, Jimmy Buffett, Nascar and riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle. His greatest passion were his two grandchildren, Zoe and Gavin. For the past 3 years he volunteered his time at Conway Little League where his grandchildren played. He helped coach and mentor them along with their team mates as well as coaching his own T-Ball team, affectionately called Popsie's Angels. You could find him most days at the league mowing and prepping the fields and doing anything and everything that needed to be done. He loved to help.
Bob is survived by his wife of 36 years, Susan (Plopper) Brown; his daughter, Shelby Brown; grandchildren, Zoe Faddis and Gavin Faddis; his parents, Bill and JoAn Brown; brother, Bill Brown and Scott Brown and sister, Sandy Wright.
A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, October 15, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. at the Newcomer Funeral Home – 895 S. Goldenrod Road in Orlando. Following the service a reception will be held at Ventura Country Club at 3201 Woodgate Blvd. in Orlando.
