Mr. Robert Albert "Rob" Parr, age 78 of Orlando, Florida went peacefully to be with the Lord on Friday, September 25, 2015 surrounded by his loving family.
Robert was born on April 7, 1937 in Chicago, Illinois. He is survived by his loving wife Flora of 57 years, his children Kim and Lana (Gerson) and his grandchildren Mallory and Matthew.
In 1956 he graduated from Chichester High School in Pennsylvania. He went on to attend Pennsylvania Military College and Temple University. He was an active member of the United States National Guard.
He retired in 2005 after a 35 year career at Siemens-Westinghouse in Orlando, Florida.
He had a strong sense of patriotism and was proud to be an American. He loved his yorkie Wilson, riding his Harley, coaching little league football and helping others. He was a member of the St. Stephen Presbyterian church where he was an elder and was instrumental in expanding the food pantry, helping feed many families in the community.
Robert dedicated his life to his family. He instilled strong family values, morals, and most importantly, love. He worked very hard and was a wonderful provider for his family. It is his greatest legacy.
He was a wonderful husband and a gentle, compassionate and loving father and grandfather. He was a great son-in-law, brother-in-law, father-in-law, and uncle. He was also a great friend.
He touched many lives with his wisdom and generosity. He will be greatly missed.
A celebration of life will be held on Friday, October 2, 2015 at 12:00 PM at St. Stephen Presbyterian Church. 8601 Lake Underhill Road, Orlando, Florida 32825.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that a donation be made to the St. Stephen Food Pantry.
