Robert Carol Bailey

November 30, 1945 — February 20, 2024

Robert C Bailey, Sr. went home to be with his Lord and Savior on February 20, 2024. He was born to Warren and Dorothy Bailey on November 30, 1945, in Wilder Hollow, VA.

Robert honorably served as a corporal in the United States Marine Corp from 1965 to 1967, during that time being active military in the Vietnam War. Later he spent most of his working career as a coal miner working for Clinchfield Coal Company.

He enjoyed being outdoors and spending time with his family. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather who was very proud of his two grandsons.

Robert is survived by his wife of 55 years, Diania, son, Robert, Jr., and daughter-in-law Denise Bailey. Two grandsons; Andrew Bailey and Anthony Bailey. Siblings Sheliah Rasnake, Deb Barker, Glenda Mounts, Larry Bailey, Mitch Bailey, Rick Bailey, and Vanessa Grubb, as well as many nieces and nephews. He is proceeded in death by his parents, Warren and Dorothy, his brother Don Bailey and sister Earnestine Pridemore.

Services with full military honors will follow at Cape Canaveral National Cemetery, 5525 US-1, Mims, FL 32754.

In lieu of flowers, the family request that memorial contributions be sent to the Wounded Warrior Project.
