Robert Andrew Bauer Iii

August 28, 1958 — September 29, 2021

Robert Andrew Bauer III (Bobby) was born on August 28th, 1958, in Dothan, AL. He grew up in Irving, TX, where he met his soon-to-be wife, Cara, when they were just 16. At 18 years of age, he married Cara in 1977, and they had their first child, Tiffany, in 1980.

He began working as an electrician in 1978 for C&B Electric and gained his journeyman's license after only 6 months in the trade. Bobby continued working for C&B through 1989. He was eventually offered an opportunity to advance within the company by operating a new branch of the business in Florida. He accepted the proposal and moved his family to Orlando, Florida. Bobby and Cara both worked together in managing the Florida branch of C&B Electric. In 1992, they had their second child, Rob.

By 2001, Bobby purchased the Florida branch and began to operate his own company, C&B Electrical Contractors of Florida. Over the past two decades, Bobby developed an excellent reputation within the construction industry and grew his company substantially. It was his mission to provide for his family and his employees. He continued to preside as President of his company through to his passing.

Bobby loved all sports, and he was a die-hard Dallas Cowboys fan. In early adulthood, he enjoyed playing recreational softball. More recently, he would always take the opportunity to go golfing with his wife whenever possible.

Above all else, Bobby loved his family the most. He absolutely cherished his wife, remaining married to her for 44 years. Bobby always dedicated himself to his kids, whether that meant being the head coach of a youth baseball team or volunteering to lug around marching band equipment. Moreover, he adored his granddaughter, Ashely. He would attend as many of her dance recitals and school events as he could.

Bobby was a kind, genuine, and loving man. His laugh was one of the most infectious, and it was difficult to find him without a smile on his face. He was greatly loved by his family and his friends, and he will be forever missed.

Bobby is survived by his wife, Cara June Bauer, daughter, Tiffany M. Smithkey, son, Robert A. Bauer, IV, grandchildren, Ashley A. Rakatansky and Presley R. Smithkey, mother, Beulah Loretta Downs, sisters, Barbara A. Pasley and Bonnie L. Richardson, and brothers, William A. Bauer and Bryan S. Downs. He is preceded in death by his father, Robert Andrew Bauer Jr.
