Robert H. (Bobby) Gentry III, passed away on March 4, 2016 after a long illness. Bobby was born December 2, 1942 in Savannah, GA to Bernice and Robert H. Gentry, Jr. The family later moved to Mt. Vernon, KY where Bobby attended high school and later the University of Kentucky. (Loved the KY Wildcats) (Go Big Blue). Bobby married his high school sweet heart, Janice Sue Halcomb in 1963. In 1965, the Gentry family moved to Orlando, FL where they opened and grew a chain of auto parts stores, Fraternal Organizational. Bobby became a member of the Orlando Masonic Lodge No. 69, York Rite and Scottish Rite. He joined and became very active with the Bahia Shriners and the Bahia Flying Fez. For several years, he flew children to and from the Shrine Hospitals in Cincinnati, Ohio and Greenville, SC. Charter member of the Bahia Mustangs plus other clubs, units and T.S.O and the Order of the Jesters. Bobby continued his time with the Shrine, serving as Potentate in 1992. Survivors include wife, Janice; his sons, Robert H. Gentry IV (Tonya), Cheston Reed (Tina); grandchildren, Robert H. Gentry V, Tiffani Dallas and Cheston Reed, Jr; one brother, Steven Paul; sister in law, Pauline Complon (Robert); brother in laws, Bill Raymond and Bill Rideout; nieces and nephews, Mollie, Angela, Logan, Carrie Donna and Joy and great nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held from 6PM-9PM, Tuesday March 8 at Newcomer Funeral Home, Orlando. Services will be held at 10AM Wednesday, March 9 at Bahia Shrine Temple, Orlando.
