Robert James Tope, Jr.

Robert J. Tope, 91 of Orlando, FL and formerly of Saginaw, MI, died September 5, 2014. Robert was born in Toronto, Ohio to Robert L. and Della (Sanders) Tope. The family relocated to Mt. Pleasant, MI, and Robert graduated from Mt. Pleasant High School and attended Central Michigan University. He served in the United States Air Force during WWII, and received the "EAME" Ribbon recognizing his six European War campaigns. Robert married Marion R. Campbell on July 17, 1942 at Sacred Heart Church in Mt. Pleasant, MI. They relocated to Saginaw, MI and Robert was employed with the Metropolitan Life Insurance Company as a salesman for over 30 years. Robert is survived by his son, Neil of Orlando, FL, a granddaughter, Kristina and her husband Bobby Vahanvash of Eastvale, CA, and five great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held from 4PM-8PM, Wednesday, September 17 at Newcomer Funeral Home, 895 S. Goldenrod Road, Orlando. A Mass will be held at 11AM, Thursday, September 18 at Blessed Trinity Catholic Church, 4545 Anderson Road, Orlando.
