Robert Ellis Patchett
Robert Ellis Patchett, 86, of Longwood, Florida passed away peacefully at his home Saturday, April 15, 2017. He was surrounded by his loving wife of 62 years, Margie Vrabeck Patchett, and his three children, Jeanie (Craig) Hansen, Robert (Marjorie) Patchett, and Mary Anne Patchett. He is also survived by seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. He is predeceased by his brother Thomas and sister Linda.
Bob was born September 22, 1930 in Fon du Lac, Wisconsin. He was a decorated Air Force veteran of the Korean War. He served as an aircrew member during the war and afterwards with the Strategic Air Command in Orlando.
He transitioned to a career in banking after his release from active duty. He retired as an accomplished and respected bank executive for Sun Bank after 33 years and served on various boards and civic organizations too numerous to list.
His friends and colleagues would describe Bob as a model of integrity and generosity as well as having a loving soul. He was an amazing husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, friend and a true gentleman.
The family would also like to extend their love and gratitude to Vitas Hospice Team 1716 for their loving and dignified care of our father. They were our guardian angels.
