Robert Thomas Veitch passed away unexpectedly on November 22nd at his home in Orlando, Florida. He was 93 years old.
Robert was born on April 10, 1927 in Queens, New York, son of William and Anne (Fanning) Veitch. He graduated from Bishop Loughlin H.S and soon thereafter enlisted to serve his country in the United States Navy during World War II. He worked for the Long Island Railroad for 30 years, retiring in 1987. Two years later he moved to Florida with his wife Gloria and daughter, Bonnie.
Robert is survived by his daughter Bonnie Veitch and his grandsons Joseph Cassata and Braden Cassata; his sons Barry Pedersen (Candy), Russell Pedersen and Ken Pedersen (Sandi) and his brother Gerard Veitch of Bellport, New York. He was blessed with Grandchildren, Jessica Pedersen, Janel Pedersen, Jennifer Pedersen, Vanessa Gutekunst (James), Kristin Pedersen, Heidi Pedersen (Vernon), Russell Pedersen Jr. and Renee Pedersen; Great Grandchildren and Great-Great Grandchildren.
Robert is preceded in death by his Parents, his loving wife Gloria Veitch, his brother Bill Veitch, and his sister Joan Fariello.
Friends and Family will always remember how Bob loved to go to the horse races at Aqueduct Racetrack, solve crossword puzzles and play golf. And he was a walker! He will lovingly be remembered as a good Son, Brother and Uncle. He was a wonderful Husband, Father and Grandfather. He was a role model. He was a Gentleman.
There is Memorial Service scheduled for December 10, 2020 at 1 PM with Military Honors.
