Roger Keith Stalvey, 43, passed away January 20, 2007 after a 3 year battle with cancer. He was born to Arlie and Jane Stalvey May 22, 1963 in Valdosta, GA. He grew up in Orlando, and achieved many athletic accomplishments, including Boone High School Coaches Achievement Award. He was selected to the all metro conference football team, and was a winner of the Red Lobster Golden Helmet Award in 1981. After graduating high school, he played football for the University of Central Florida. In 2005 he was inducted into Boone High School's Hall of Fame. He is survived by his parents, Arlie and Jane Stalvey, brothers Bobby, Larry (Janice), Michael, Ronnie (Suzanne), and sister Brenda Nash (Johnny), nieces, Samantha, Sydney, nephews, Jason Nash, Jarrett and Brett. Donations can be made in Roger's name to the American Cancer Society or Hospice of the Comforter. Visitation will be held Wednesday January 24, 2007 from 6-8PM at Newcomer Family Funeral Home, East Orlando. Funeral services will be held Thursday January 25, 2007 at 2PM in the funeral home. Interment will follow at Greenwood Cemetery, Orlando.
