Ron Walker

Ron Walker, age 63, of Sanford, Florida passed away on Thursday, December 2, 2021 at his home in Sanford.

Ron was born on January 28, 1958 in Lexington, KY, son of the late Howard and Gwenda Louise (Haley) Walker. Ron was proud to be a U.S. Army Veteran and served from February 1976 til December 1980. He spent most of his term in Germany and brought back to the states a love for German food. Ron's love for the University of Kentucky was always apparent, almost everyday he was wearing something UK. If it wasn't UK, it was Harley Davidson. Ron moved from Kentucky to Florida in 1992 and quickly became a successful building contractor having up to 100 employees, and even started his own Kentucky themed restaurant in the late 90's. His main joy was on home remodeling and home additions, his main goal being to make a home addition look original. He had such a keen eye for detail. He had a love for golf, and played twice a week and was always in the top of his league. He loved his Harley and traveled to Sturgis bike week twice. Ron had many loves in his life, he loved his Kentucky bourbon, his cigars, his family, and his 3 beautiful granddaughters who he took fishing often. He loved all things western: books, movies and TV shows, and he was a big fan of John Wayne, his favorite dog was even named "Dog".

Ron is survived by his son, Chad Walker and his wife, Sara, of Zellwood, FL; his fiancé, Jennifer L. Schumacher of Sanford; three grandchildren, Kayla Ruth Walker, Naomi Elizabeth Walker, and Chloe Louise Walker; a brother, Rick Walker and his wife, Donna, of Tavares, FL; two sisters, Sandra Louise Walker of Sanford, Kelley Walker of Longwood; and his step-brother, Cecil "CJ" Wilson, Jr., and his wife Shea, of Richmond, KY.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and a brother, Larry Walker.

Funeral Services will be held on Sunday, December 12, 2021 at 3:00 pm at Newcomer Funeral Home – South Seminole Chapel, 335 E. State Road 434, Longwood with Pastor Tom Hensley officiating.

Visitation with the family will be on Sunday preceding the service from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm at the funeral home.
