Ronald "Ronn" James Schwenn, age 90, passed away on Wednesday, December 26, 2018 in Titusville, Florida. Ronn was born on June 1, 1928 in Chicago, Illinois to parents Walter and Mattie Schwenn.
He is survived by his loving wife of 18 years, Marian Lane Schwenn, his son, Shannon Ronn Schwenn and his wife, Melissa Schwenn, and his grandson, Joshua Schwenn.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Mattie Schwenn, and his son, Marshal Rex Schwenn.
Immediately following his graduation from high school in Mauston, Wisconsin, Ronn joined the United States Air Force where he served his country in the Korean War. His occupation while in the military was an aerial reconnaissance photographer. He was honorably discharged in 1953.
Ronn began his teaching career as an art instructor in New Zealand. He continued his educational profession once back in the United States, ultimately retiring as the Principal of Oak Ridge High School in Orlando, Florida in 1990.
Following his retirement, he went on to serve as the Human Resources Director at Orthomerica Products, Inc. for five years, where he played a pivotal role in establishing their facility in Edinburgh, Scotland.
Over the next ten years, he and his wife, Marian, traveled around the world. They went on numerous adventures and met countless new friends along the way, returning to the Central Florida area in 2006.
A memorial service with military honors will be held from 2:00 to 3:00 PM on Monday, January 7, 2019 at Newcomer Cremation, Funerals, & Receptions, 2400 S. Washington Avenue, Titusville, FL 32780. A celebration of life will follow from 6:00 to 10:00 PM, where dinner will be provided, at An Tobar at the Sheraton Orlando North Maitland, 600 North Lake Destiny Road, Maitland, FL 32751. Please use the bar entrance to the left of the main hotel lobby.
