Ronnie Beach Smith

Ronnie Beach Smith, 65 of Orlando, passed away at his home on December 15, 2011. He was born November 10, 1946 in Charlotte, NC. He was a graduate of Deland High School, class of 1965. He served 20 years in the United States Marine Corp., including two tours of duty in Vietnam. After retiring as a First Sergeant, he then worked 20 years in the US Postal Service, both in Florida and New Jersey.

He is survived by his wife of 34 years, Julia; sons, Mark and wife Donna, Tony and Scott; grandchildren, Ryan, Ashley, Kenny, Tony and Julia; father, James A. Smith of Clinton, NC; sister, Olivia Sweeting and husband Larry of Zellwood, FL; three generations of nieces and nephews to numerous to name.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Inez Beach Smith and sister, Jimmie "Cricket" Campbell.

A brief viewing will be held at Newcomer Funeral Home, 895 S. Goldenrod Road, Orlando, Thursday, December 22 from 10AM-11AM. Graveside services will follow at Florida National Cemetery, 6502 SW 102nd Avenue, Bushnell, FL at 1PM.
