Rose Christina Roach

November 7, 1934 — July 20, 2022

Rose Christina Roach, Age 87, Born 11/7/1934 - 7/20/2022

Rose was a strong women born in Philadelphia Pennsylvania. She attended Sisters of St Joseph's Catholic Grade School and graduated from J W Hallahan Catholic Girls High School.

She voluntarily enlisted into the United States Women's Army Corps (WAC) right after high school. She served her country honorably for four years. Her commendation letter indicated she was a pleasure to work with, was always willing to do far more than her share of work and her standard of personal appearance and neatness were exemplary.

Rose and Robert Roach married in 1955 and had 3 beautiful children: Robert William, Theresa Rose and Shawn Christopher. They moved thirteen times over 25 years during dedicated Military service to our great country. Rose was also blessed with and so proud of her two grandsons: Cory and Aaron and a Great Grand Daughter Laurel. She was so thankful to have met and spent time with Laurel when Cory, his wife Emily and Laurel visited from San Diego nine months ago.

Rose worked at the Navy Base Commissary for about twenty years and met some of her best friends there as they worked extremely hard, had lots of fun and stayed in shape doing the physical labor of bagging groceries.

Rose was extremely competitive and enjoyed bowling, playing putt putt golf, cards, bingo on her Granpad and in her later years played Rummikub for several hours a day with Terri in the afternoon, Shawn at night and Bob and Marsha on the weekends.

Rose was a loyal softball fan following Terri's teams and Cory and Aaron's baseball teams all over the state of Florida and beyond. She was a dedicated UCF football fan and enjoyed watching Tiger Woods play golf. She also loved riding along in the golf cart watching Terri golf. Rose traveled with Bob, Sherrie and her two Grandsons Cory and Aaron to Gatlinburg Tennessee for many years to see the fall colors. Rose loved to travel and visited Shawn in Arizona. He was the best tour guide showing Rose the Grand Canyon, Sedona, Zion Canyon, Las Vegas, the Hoover Dam and many memorable sites along the way. Rose joined Terri and Vera on many vacations to Tennessee annually for decades, to many Florida beaches, North Carolina to see the mountains and even traveled with the whole family by RV to family reunions in Pennsylvania and Ohio with stops in South Carolina and West Virginia. She vacationed in the RV for weeks in Michigan and Indiana fulfilling a lifelong dream of visiting the University of Notre Dame Campus and church as she was an avid fan of the Fighting Irish Football Team.

Rose taught everyone around her to say "I love you" and "love yens" because you can never hear that too often. She spread love throughout her world getting many other families to start this tradition when those words were rarely spoken before meeting Rose.

The most unforgettable part of Rose's personality was her sense of humor. So many friends, relatives and doctors' offices said, "You always get a good laugh when talking to Rose!" Her quick wit was still intact right up until the Good Lord called her home.

Rose battled many bouts of Pneumonia for over a year but played Rummikub the day before she passed and (all things considered) was in no pain when she went to see the Lord.
