Rosetta was a wife, devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and devout catholic. She succumbed to her battle with breast cancer and departed this life on Saturday, March 23, 2024 at her home in Orlando Florida.
She was born March 24, 1939 in Donaldsonville, La. She attended and graduated from St. Catherine Catholic High School.
Always a hard worker, she worked in the movie theater in Donaldsonville and at Brazier drug store as a clerk. After moving to Orlando in 1978, she was employed at the Naval Base Training Center where she retired after 17 years as Personalized Service Manager. She was also employed at Walmart in Orlando for 8 years as a cashier.
In 1961, she married Arthur Jarvis who was in the Navy and stationed in Bremerton, WA. As a naval spouse she lived in Rhode Island, Hawaii, South Carolina and made her home in Orlando, Fl. During her stay in Hawaii, she was a cub scout leader.
Rosetta also known as "Rosie" had a love for cooking, baking, and was an avid reader. She was a member of the Blessed Trinity Catholic Church in Orlando, FL.
She was preceded in death by her parents Fallon and Ruth Jacob, and a brother, Charles Jacob.
She is survived by her husband, Arthur Jarvis, who she was married to for 62 years; daughter Janelle Weems, (Atlanta, GA); son Jeffrey Jarvis (Orlando, Florida); grandchildren, Andrew Jarvis, (Pembroke Pines), Quentin Weems (Atlanta, GA), and Xavier Weems (Atlanta, GA); great-grandson Andres Jarvis, (Pembroke Pines); her brother, Fallon "Morris" Jacob (Donaldsonville, LA); her sister, Shirley Pleasant (Clinton, MS); and a host of nieces and nephews.
Rosetta, was a loving and giving person who touched and made an impact on the lives of the many people who she met.
