Rosie (Duke Stewart) Westbrook, age 91, went to be with Jesus on November 7, 2021. She was born in Kissimmee, FL on April 7, 1930.
She was a dedicated mother first and foremost. Rosie treasured her children and embraced every moment with them. She especially enjoyed her role as a grandmother. Rosie was very active in each and every grandchild's life. She was a true matriarch.
Rosie worked in the restaurant industry as a cook. She worked at many well-known restaurants around the Orlando area—Jordan-Marsh, Chick-N-Treat, The Donut Dinette, and Mollie E. Ray Elementary School. Rosie had a vivacious personality and was welcoming to everyone. She did not know a stranger. She loved life and having her family around her. Rosie enjoyed singing. She was a Christian and loved the Lord.
Rosie was the loving and devoted mother of six daughters—Shirley Terrell, Katherine Howell, Martha Crawford, Brenda Stewart, Barbara Moreno, and Davida Lehman. She was also the loving grandmother of 16 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren and 10 great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her daughter Brenda Stewart, granddaughter Jennifer Steskal, and grandson David Buck.
Rosie will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
There will be a private service on Monday, November 15, 2021 at Lake Hill Cemetery at 12:00 PM.
