Ruben Ruiz Esquilin

Ruben Ruiz Esquilin, age 74, passed away peacefully at his home in Debary, Florida. Born in Ceiba, Puerto Rico, Ruben was a gifted vocalist and guitarist whose professional career was catapulted to international success in 1977 when he won the Agueybana De Oro: 5to Festival Internacional de la Cancion y Voz representing Puerto Rico against 63 other countries. He was received in his hometown as a hero after this win. Music became his life's goal and passion which he pursued fervently throughout the years.

He married Juanita Rodriguez, (deceased) in December 1964 and is survived by his three grown children, Ruben Orlando Ruiz Rodriguez, Hector Ruben Ruiz Rodriguez, Virna Mariel Ruiz Rodriguez – and four grandchildren: Aden Arias Armitage Ruiz, Rhodes Arias Ruiz, Rush Orion Ruiz, Evan Zander Ruiz and devoted companion, Maria Ramos.

An intimate Celebration of Life will be held at Faith Assembly.
