Rufus Theodore Rogers, 77, of Orlando, Florida passed away on April 28, 2019. He was born September 4, 1941 in Hillsborough County, Florida.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Josephine Rogers; parents, Rosa Weeks and Francis Rogers; and his siblings, Ray Rogers, Frances Peeler, and Earl Rogers.
Rufus is survived by his children, Myra "Gale" Watson, Cheryl Weeks, Rex Rogers, Peggy Chambers, Crystal Valentin, Shawn Weeks, and Frankie Weeks; his grandchildren Wesley Mowery, Morgan Mowery, Joshua Watson, Dana Watson, Rex Rogers Jr., Roxy Cannon, Corey Rogers, Brittney Bruce, and Corabell Bruce; and his five great-grandchildren.
A visitation for Rufus will take place on Thursday, May 2, 2019 at 10:00 am, followed by a funeral ceremony at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals, and Receptions on Goldenrod Road. Burial at Chapel Hill Cemetery will follow all chapel services.
