Ruth Lucille Concini was born on May 12, 1930 in Garrett, Pennsylvania.
Ruth was the youngest of eight siblings growing up on a farm in a small town outside of Pittsburgh. At one point, she even rescued a younger boy from drowning who had fallen into an icy river.
She got married in 1951 to her late husband Robert, who worked for the local newspaper. Soon afterwards they relocated to Columbus, Ohio, where Ruth started working for the telephone company, and where their daughter was born. In 1957, they moved down to Orlando.
For many years, she worked as a homemaker raising her children. When her husband died in 1985, she went back to work for Traveler's Insurance, where she eventually retired.
Among many of her fine qualities were a strong work ethic, good organizational skills, practicality, patience, and a sense of humor.
She enjoyed playing the piano, decorating, gardening, crocheting and spending time with family and friends. She was a great typist and even learned how to program her electric typewriter when they came along!
She recalled an incident when she set the insurance form in the typewriter and started the program. Then she began filing some documents into the file cabinet. Her boss walked by and was dumbfounded seeing the typewriter type away all by itself! Apparently she could type with no hands!
Ruth had a strong faith and loved conversing about the Bible with people in coffee shops and at doctor's offices and malls.
She is survived by one daughter, Shavez, three sons, John, Daniel, and David, by three grandchildren, Travis, Nadia and Gabriel, and by two great-grandchildren, Kiet and Decker.
Ruth will be dearly missed by all that knew her.
The memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 18th, 2023 at 2pm at 5835 Cornelia Ave, Orlando, FL 32807.
