Ruth Elaine Lopez

Ruth Elaine Lopez was peacefully called home to Heaven on November 4, 2016 after a brief battle with cancer. She was 83. Ruth was born in Rochester, NY and moved to the Central Florida area with her family in 1977 where she became a longtime resident.

Mrs. Ruth Lopez was preceded in death by her loving husband of 55 years, Ray Lopez. She was a beloved mother of & survived by her son Joe Lopez and daughters Susan Lopez, Jennifer Lopez and Debbie Basey(Jim Basey). Ruth was also a wonderful Grandmother to Kristin Basey & Jimmy Basey.

Ruth is the daughter of the late Joseph & Emma Mungenast. She is also survived by her sisters Doris Peck and Jean Ward as well as her late brother Joseph Mungenast and several nieces and nephews.

Ruth had a love for the FL Gulf Coast where she would spend many hours searching for and collecting sharks teeth. She also loved going out for steak dinners with family & friends, enjoyed watching Jeopardy, Wheel of Fortune and many re-runs of Everybody Loves Raymond. Ruth cherished spending time with her children and most recently traveled to New Orleans, Colorado, and New York with them making many fond memories.

Loved by many, Ruth will be deeply missed but in our hearts forever.

A Church Mass will be held on Friday, November 11, 2016 at 2PM at St. Augustine Catholic Church, 375 Sunset Drive N, Casselberry, FL 32707. Visitation will follow between the hours of 6PM and 8PM at Newcomer Funeral Home, 335 East SR 434, Longwood, FL 32750.

Burial Service will be held on Saturday, November 12, 2016 at 11:00AM at Florida National Cemetery, 6502 SW 102nd Ave, Bushnell, FL 33513.
