On March 20, 2013. She was a retired civil servant, homemaker, and baker and Halloween costume seamstress extraordinaire. She is survived by her son, John Young (Brenda); daughter Nancy Young (Rohan Dias); granddaughter Fortunata Chipeta; sister Linda Danowsky; brothers Frederick Benfer and Sam Benfer; and many beloved nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by husband Clifton Jordan, sisters Jane Mahoney and Nancy Barnwell, and brothers Edward Benfer and Clarence Benfer. Funeral services will be held at 6pm on Monday, March 25th at Newcomer Family Funeral Home, 895 S. Goldenrod Road, Orlando. Visitation will be held from 5pm until service time. Interment will be held at Cheltenham Veterans Cemetery, Cheltenham, Maryland on Monday, April 8, 2013 at 1:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Military Order of the Purple Heart Service Foundation, Inc., 7008 Little River Turnpike, PO Box 49, Annandale, VA 22003 or www.mophsf.org.
