Salustina D. "Tinita" Rodriguez, 92, of 3255 Boggy Terrace Rd., Kissimmee, FL passed away at her daughter Flora's home in Colorado, on July 28th 2023, surrounded by family, under the care of Pikes Peak Hospice of Colorado Springs, CO.
Born October 30, 1930 in San Jose de las Matas, Dominican Republic, she learned to read by practicing with her family bible as a humble young girl with little resources in her country. She married Lepido A. Rodriguez in 1948, and later both immigrated to the USA in New York City, NY in 1960 and 1962 respectively. She along with her husband raised seven children; Amparo, Juana, Juan, Jesus, Flora, Percio and Frank.
She was a beautiful woman not only on the outside but mainly because of who she was on the inside. She loved her children with unconditional love, and even more, she loved God. Tinita was a devoted and faithful Christian who loved reading the Psalms in particular; her favorite being Psalms 23: 1-6. In her was the gift of hospitality; she was kind, always ready to share what little or how much she had, and she had a compassionate soul. Salustina forgave easily and did not hold a grudge.
Many of us are blessed for her support, her advice, her efforts to see that we were a strong, brave and united family. Though she left us to go to her home in heaven on July 28th 2023, She leaves us with a lot of hope running through the veins and DNA of her six children, 20 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren and 18 great-great-grandchildren.
She was a beloved woman, a beloved mother, and a beautiful person - on the outside and inside.
