Salvatore ( Sal) Ciancimino, Originally from Sciacca, Sicily born June 6, 1940. Has been a resident of Orlando for over 26 years. He was one of eight children to Antonino Ciancimino and Caterina Sabella.
He passed away Sunday December 23, 2018 at the age of 78, after a battle with cancer.
He loved being with his family and people in general. He was a good man a generous man. Sal had a loving happy go lucky personality and was everyone's friend. He adored his grandchildren Zack and Vivian. He worked since he was nine years old, first as a cook in a commercial fisherman boat. Later in his teens and early twenties as a fisherman. When he was twenty five his family sent him to America, where he worked for the Fulton Fish Market in New York. He has a large family in the New York area.
At 56 he moved to Florida and loved it. He settled in Orlando and ran a successful "Hot Dog Cart" in different locations in the downtown area for 13 years, he retired at 67. One very special event in our lives together was Sal becoming a US citizen January 23, 2015, something he had wanted for years.
He is survived by his wife Lyzette, daughter Kathy, stepdaughters Marie and Teri, stepsons, Louie and Anthony, his grandchildren Zack and Vivian daughters in law Kimberly and Kelcie, son in law Larry and sister Sena and her husban Joe Sabella and their family.
A graveside memorial will be held on December 27, 2018 at 11:00AM. The service will be held at Chapel Hill Cemetery at 2400 Harrell Rd, Orlando, FL 32817.
