Sara Puente Santiago, 85 of Orlando passed away Monday, September 3, 2007. Born in Ponce, Puerto Rico, she moved to Central Florida in 1987. She was a retired Registered Nurse and member of Iglesia Bautista De La Gracia (Grace Baptist Church) in Orlando. An avid craftsman, she loved pottery, macrame, doll making and knitting. She was a member of the College of Professional Nurses in Puerto Rico.
She is survived by her son, Oscar David Alicea of Orlando; granddaughters, Saritza Hernandez of Orlando, Heddaliz "Liz" Alicea-Madera of Orlando and Ivelisse Perez of Orlando; 6 great grandchildren, Anitza Hernandez, David Hernandez, Daniel Hernandez, Angelisse Perez, Kiara Perez and Jordan Perez all of Orlando.
Funeral services will be conducted at 7:00 PM on Thursday, September 6, 2007 in the Chapel of Newcomer Family Funeral Home, 895 S. Goldenrod Road, Orlando with Rev. Edgar Jimenez officiating. Visitation will be held from 3:00-7:00 PM prior to the service.
