Sarah Etta Gamel Belflower

Our beloved mother Sarah Belflower of Maitland, Florida peacefully left this earth after a long battle with Parkinson's disease. She passed away on December 5th at the age of 83.

Sarah was born on October 26, 1938 to J.T. & Alma Gamel in Dallas, Georgia. After graduating from Douglas County H.S. in 1956 she went to work at the Federal Reserve Bank in Atlanta before marrying Joseph Belflower in 1960. She was a stay-at-home mom raising three boys before starting her career as a successful real estate broker.

Sarah enjoyed sewing, gardening, spending time with her grandchildren and traveling throughout North America, Europe, and Israel. Sarah had a strong faith in Jesus Christ and was very active with her church, Sunday school class, and choir.

Sarah is predeceased by her parents; siblings Wendell, Virginia Allen, and Max. Survived by her husband Joe; brother Terry; three children Scott, Jeffrey and Steve (Jennifer); and three grandchildren Bradley, Elizabeth and Joseph.

Services will be held Tuesday December 14th, 11:00 A.M. at the First Baptist Church of Winter Park followed by burial at Glen Haven Memorial Park. The family request flowers to be sent to Newcomer Funeral Home, 3806 Howell Branch Rd, Winter Park Florida 32792.
