Sarah Elizabeth Lein

November 15, 1965 — August 31, 2023

Sarah Elizabeth Lein, nee Jones of Orlando Florida, devoted mother of four wonderful children, and a caring and loving wife has completed her journey on this earth and started her life everlasting on August 31, 2023. Sarah was born in Fort Lewis, Washington on November 15, 1965, daughter of the late Francis Shepard "Shep" and Margaret (Peggy) Dodd Jones. As an army brat, Sarah traveled the world including time in Alaska, Germany, and New York before settling in Bennington, Vermont where she attended junior and senior high school graduating from Mt. Anthony Union High School in 1983. After attaining college degrees at SUNY Cobleskill and Niagara University, Sarah embarked on a lifetime of adventures raising her children and bringing joy and fulfillment to many. Shortly after graduation, she married her loving husband, Donald, on March 19, 1988. After her twin children were born, Sarah began her lifelong involvement with The Mothers of Twins organization where she found fellowship and provided leadership for other parents of multiples. As she walked the path along her faith journey, she was ordained and installed as both a deacon and an elder in the Presbyterian church. Her devotion to her community and her love for cooking were key as she directed efforts for church youth events and yearly Thanksgiving community meals where over 2000 were commonly fed. Sarah's intense involvement with Boy Scout Troop 285 in Albuquerque led to the development of many eagle scouts including two of her children. Her love for travel was exemplified through her multiple cross-country road trips and numerous cruises. As a grieving mother, her involvement with The Compassionate Friends allowed her to be with the best group of friends she never wanted to meet. Sarah's love for quilting allowed her to make treasured heirlooms for family and friends while taking her on many more adventures to discover quilt shops and quilters across the country. Sarah stood up to the challenges in her life, enjoyed the highlights of her life, and brought happiness and love to those she held dear.

Sarah is survived by her husband Donald H Lein Jr. of Orlando, FL, children Kathryn Margaret Lein of Albuquerque, NM, Francesca Christine Lein of Kansas City, MO, and Donald III (Teaghan) of Albuquerque and grandson Jayce Leo Lein as well as brother Franklin Jones (Lori) of Shrewsbury, MA and sister Carol Sawyer (Tom) of Mesa, AZ. She is now reunited with her mother Margaret (Peggy) Jones, her father Francis S. (Shep) Jones, her brother George Shepard Jones, and her loving daughter Emily Anne Lein.
