Sharon Forbes Grant

Sharon Forbes Grant, 60, of Winter Park, FL went peacefully to Heaven on August 2, 2010. Her husband Herbert F. Grant, Jr., and son Mathew P Mizer were at her side. To Herb she was known as "Little One" and to her beloved grandson Nicholas as "MiMi". Sharon was an avid gardener, snow skier and world traveler. She loved to plan trips to foreign lands yearly. Sharon was born September 8, 1949 in Staunton, VA., to Don and Camilla Forbes. In 1975 she moved to Orlando with her son Matthew. She married the love of her life, Herb Grant Jr. in Lake Tahoe and resided in Winter Park, FL until her passing. Sharon's career path took her to banking as manager of The F.R.S.A. Credit Union. Her love of working with the handicapped and elderly took her back to school where she received a degree of RN from the Florida Hospital School of Health Science, graduating with Honors. Sharon has countless friends and loved ones. She especially loved the "Ski Girls", the "Florida Power Breakfast Group Girls" and special friends Sandy and Bill Giles. Sharon is survived by her husband Herbert F Grant, Jr., son Mathew P Mizer, Matthew's Grandmother Edith Mizer of Waynesboro, VA, and Sons Herbert F Grant III, William W Grant, wife Ellen, beloved Grandson Nicholas W Grant, 6 nieces and nephews and 7 great nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held from 12:00 – 2:00 PM on Friday, Aug. 6, 2010 in the chapel of Newcomer Funeral Home, 895 S. Goldenrod Rd. Orlando. The service will be held at 2:00 PM with interment to follow at Glen Haven Memorial Park in Winter Park. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Florida United Methodist Childrens Home, 51 Childrens Way, Enterprize, FL 32725 386-668-4774.
