Sheila was born December 10, 1941 in Cleveland, Ohio, the oldest of three children. She moved to Central Florida with her family in 1951. Sheila graduated from Boone High School and UCF with a BA degree in Elementary Education. She was a retired elementary school teacher of Hidden Oaks Elementary. Mrs. Perdue was also a founding member of United Church of the Nazarene.
Sheila was a beloved wife, mother, Nana, sister, aunt, and friend. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her. She had a generous heart and dedicated her life to the needs of her family, friends, church and community. She was fun spirited with a great sense of humor, beautiful laugh and smile, gift of gab, great cook, beach lover, extremely resourceful, and fully poured her heart into anything she committed herself to.
She met her faithful husband of 62 years on a blind date in Orlando while he was stationed at McCoy Air Force Base. They fell in love and soon wed. His assignments and career training took them to many cities in the USA. They had their first child, Scott, while on assignment. They settled in Orlando Florida, and soon after had their daughter, Jennifer. Together, Sheila and her husband committed their lives to a life of service through local churches – Dover Shores Baptist and United Church of the Nazarene. They found great joy in teaching children, teens and adults. They especially enjoyed bible studies, planning trips, cook-outs, games, and all types of fun activities for these groups. Together they touched so many lives. They were also very committed to family life – staying active and volunteering at school, extracurricular activities, get togethers, regular family vacations, and caring after their aging parents. While she will be greatly missed here on earth, we find peace in knowing that she is in Heaven with her Savior.
