Shirley Mankovich passed away peacefully in her home at the age of 89 on January 28, 2021. Shirley was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and loyal friend to many.
Shirley was born in Paterson, NJ to Rose and Charles Meissner. She married her high school sweetheart, Robert, "Buzzy" Mankovich on December 2, 1950 in Wyckoff, NJ. They built their life together for many years in NJ, started their own businesses and worked side-by side with much success, then happily retired to Orlando, FL in the 1980's.
Shirley was an amazing homemaker and hostess, and loved spending time in their home with family and friends. She was an avid animal lover and bird watcher, and was always thrilled to see the beautiful cardinals and doves at her birdfeeder. She loved tending to flowers in her yard and her home was always welcoming and charming. Neighbors loved to see her plentiful decorations displayed for every holiday. She laughed often and had a great sense of humor. She is remembered fondly by so many for her kindness and generosity.
Shirley was very active in the Catholic Church during her lifetime, at St. Monica's in Sussex, NJ and St. Joseph's in Orlando, FL. She was a member of the Women's Guild at St. Joseph's, which filled her heart with much joy.
Shirley is survived by her husband of 70 years, Robert, and her two children Robert and Cynthia, along with three grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
Shirley will be laid to rest at Chapel Hill Cemetery in Orlando, FL following a service at St. Joseph's Catholic Church on February 26, 2021. The family requests no flowers, just your prayers and fond memories for this wonderful woman.
