Shirley Tousignant

Shirley Ann Tousignant was born September 5, 1948 in Memphis TN to the late Rosa Lee Lawrence. She was the third of five children.

Shirley began her educational background in Memphis TN at Hamilton HS. She later moved to New York completing an AAS Degree at LaGuardia Community College, followed her Bachelors Degree at Queens College. Shirley loved life, and was active in fitness and travel and loved to paint. After retiring from the teaching profession and later moving to Florida, Shirley enrolled in yoga school and further continued her love for painting and travel. Shirley will always be remembered as a dynamo that was very outspoken and lived life to the fullest.

Shirley was proceeded in death by her older sister Lois Jean Lawrence in 2008. Shirley leaves behind in her cherished memory a son Ricky Darnell Triplett, daughter in law Cathie Avril Triplett, granddaughters Tiana Larraine Triplett and Porsche Darnella Triplett, grandson Armani Darnell Triplett, two surviving sisters Claretha Blocker of Memphis TN, Gwendolyn Stevens of NY, a brother Andrew Lawrence of NY, brother in law Edward Blocker of TN, nephew Eric Blocker of TN, niece's Angela Hewitt of TN, Tamika Stevens of NY; Uncle Everette Sims, aunts Thelma Pretlow, Palestine Sims, and Althera Mack. Shirley also leaves behind a host of cousins and special friends, in particular Gary L. Shlaen of Queens NY.

Waiting to welcome her home, mother Rosa Lee Lawrence, uncles Nathaniel Sims, Eugene Sims, George Sims, Rayfield Sims, Napoleon Sims, aunt Verna Mae Burke, cousins Debbie Sims and Kay Sims.
