Sonia Almarie Hines

Sonia Almarie Hines, departed her loving family on Friday, September 24, 2021 at Advent Health Hospital, Orlando. Sonia was born in Kingston, Jamaica on June 25, 1955 to Clifford Archer and the late Laurel Archer.

Sonia was mother to Carisa, Candice, Cara- Ann and Ricardo. She raised her children with love and devotion with her husband, Oswald Hines. Sonia was a devoted wife, loving mother, and the world's best grandmother. She was also a very strong woman of faith who dedicated her life to serving the Lord and serving others.

For over two decades, Sonia worked at the Registrars Generals Office in Spanish Town, Jamaica. After migrating to the United States, she worked as a Paraprofessional in the Polk County School District until her retirement. Her hobbies included crocheting, cooking, reading, and writing out her Bible. She was most proud of her children and grandchildren.

Sonia is survived by her husband of 40 years, Oswald Hines; her father, Clifford Archer; her three daughters, Carisa Hines, Candice Forbes, and Cara-Ann Hines; her son, Ricardo Hines; her son – in law, Jiro Forbes; two grandchildren Jazmine and Jackson Forbes; her sister, Fay Archer; her brother, Level Archer; and her nieces and nephews Charise Simpson, Jade Archer, Crystal Archer, Corey Morgan and Jordan Archer.

Funeral Services will be held on Sunday, October 17, 2021 at 11:00 am at Mt. Olive Seventh Day Adventist Church, 3350 Clarcona Rd, Apopka, FL.

Visitation with the family will precede the service from 10:30 am – 11:00 am at the church.

Interment will follow at Highland Memory Gardens, 3329 E Semoran Blvd, Apopka, FL.
