Sonia E. Ochoa, age 59, of Orlando, Florida passed away on Saturday, July 6, 2019.
Sonia was born on August 6, 1959 in Caguas, PR; daughter of the late Felix Quiñones Orta and Irma (Rodriguez-Alicea) Ramirez. Sonia was a cosmetologist and Master Barber for over 30 years. She resided in Maryland for most of her career and later moved to Florida in 2005. Sonia was actively involved in various church activities including usher/greeter ministry, senior adult ministry, youth ministry, and new believer ministry. She was a very faithful Christian woman who loved God and life. When she was not spending time in her church activities, or helping a friend or loved one, she was caring for her loving Yorkie, Cosita.
Sonia is survived by her husband, Daniel M. Ochoa; three daughters, Iraina E. Briganty and her husband Miguel, Yajaira E. Briganty-Quiñones, and Joselyn E. Pinto; two brothers, Antonio Quiñones and his wife, Yanisley, and Edwin Quiñones and his wife, Nilda; two grandchildren, Anagelica E. Gonzalez, and Anthony M. Briganty; and an expectant grandchild, Enzo A. Feroce; and her great-granddaughter, Ava-Joy.
A Celebration of Sonia's life will be on Thursday, July 11, 2019 at 7:00 pm at Newcomer Funeral Home – East Orlando Chapel, 895 S. Goldenrod Rd, Orlando, FL 32822 with Pastor Edgardo Ramos officiating.
Visitation with the family will be on Thursday at the funeral home from 4:30 pm – 7:00 pm.
