Stella Powell, age 79 of Margate Avenue, Orlando passed away Tuesday, Feb. 14, 2006.
Born in Budapest, Hungary, she moved to Fort Hood, Texas in 1945, to Miami, FL in 1951 then to Orlando in 1959. She was a homemaker and member of St. James Catholic Cathedral and Women's Guild. She was also a member of the Hungarian-American Club of Orlando.
She is survived by her son, George Powell and his wife Grace of Seattle, WA, son, Richard Powell of Orlando, daughter, Linda Gorgen and her husband Pete of Orlando, son, Kevin Powell of Seattle, WA; grandchildren, Richard Powell Jr. and his wife, Lisa of Michigan and Melissa Janssen of St. Augustine, FL; great grandchildren, Alex and Katie Powell of Michigan as well as a host of many close friends she considered as family.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 AM on Friday, Feb. 17, 2006 at St. James Catholic Cathedral. Visitation will be held from 7:00-9:00 PM on Thursday, Feb. 16, 2006 at Newcomer Family Funeral Home, 895 S. Goldenrod Road, Orlando.
