Stella Rizzo, age 98, of Apopka, Florida passed away on Thursday, October 6, 2022 at her home in Apopka.
Stella was born on July 8, 1924 in Detroit, MI; the only daughter born to her late parents and Polish immigrants, Peter J. and Aniela (Duda) Adamovitch.
In 2004, at the age of 80 years old, she became a licensed minister of the gospel of Christ. She would go weekly to preach the gospel and spread the word "to the old folks" – as she would call them. She led many people to Christ.
Stella was a loving wife, mother, and friend. She dropped out of school in the 11th grade, but at the age of 60, she graduated from high school with honors. She had a great sense of humor, tremendous wit, and loved to act silly. Stella had a big heart for people and loved well.
She is survived by her five children, son, Edward J Rizzo, Jr. of Altamonte Springs; son, James P. Rizzo and his wife, Faye, of Cleveland, TN; daughter, Juanita S Sanchez and her husband, Jose, of Cleveland, TN; daughter, Gina M. Rizzo of Apopka; and son, Eugene Rizzo and his wife, Tammy, of Fernandina Beach, FL; seven grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Edward J Rizzo, Sr.; and brother, John Adamovitch.
